What I love about this abstract is the feelings and the emotions the combination of cool and warm vibrant colors evoke. This, in turn, allows the viewer to suggest his own subject. A great example of how complementary colors work together.
This overflowing wicker basket of colorful pansies is an Academy favorite lesson. Notice the faces of each flower are painted with layers of unique color. The word that comes to mind when looking at this painting is abundance

This long skinny 10×20 was a perfect fit for this earthen pot and red leaf flowers. Or are they just red leaves? Vincent Van Gogh can always surprise and delight us with his unique artistic vision of the world.
