The word that comes to mind with this painting is “Timeless” Inspired by one of our famous “the old dead artists” We could see the same still life set up in 2017 over 150 years later. This is a perfect painting to hang in a study, office, library/den or man cave even a kitchen.
What I love about this abstract is the feelings and the emotions the combination of cool and warm vibrant colors evoke. This, in turn, allows the viewer to suggest his own subject. A great example of how complementary colors work together.
Soft spring and olive-tinted greens fade the leaves into the background as we focus intently on the small delicate white spring flowers. The dark branch adds contrast needed for the flowers to take center stage.
